Easton School Board Member Missing from Meetings
Easton Area School Board Member Pat Vulcano Jr. has missed crucial meetings due to health reasons.
When the Easton Area School Board slashed 17 teacher jobs at a special meeting without public notice, member Pat Vulcano Jr. was missing in action.
And when it voted not to renew Superintendent Susan McGinley's contract, Vulcano also wasn't there for the decision.
According to the Easton Express-Times, Vulcano has missed three regular meetings and a special meeting since mid-April due to health reasons.
Meanwhile, during that time, the school board has eliminated over 100 positions throughout the school district and cut 17 teachers and an assistant principal from Easton Area Middle School.
The school board, in an effort to close a budget deficit, shed 41 paraprofessionals from the school board. At a meeting last week, it also cut more jobs.
