New details have emerged about the ceremony, which begins at 12:30 Sunday at the field near the Charles Chrin Community Center.
The field was designed to allow children with physical and intellectual disabilities in Northampton County and also Monroe County and Warren County, N.J., to play baseball.
More than 80 children have signed up to play in the league.
On Sunday, the Easton Area High School band will perform and there will be a flag-raising ceremony by Boy Scout Troop 362 of Bethlehem.
Speakers include Palmer Township Supervisors Chairman Dave Colver; Miracle League President Richard Agretto; Mike Woodley, president of the Easton Rotary Club; Diane Alford of the National Miracle League Foundation; Chuck Brady of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, and a special video appearance by Philadelphia Phillies catcher and honoraray MLNC chairman Brian Schneider, a Northampton High School grad.
"This is a wonderful day for the kids of Northampton County," baseball Hall-of-Famer Cal Ripken Jr. said.
