Musical Memories.
You can remember where you were at what point of your life sometimes just from a song.
It's funny how you will hear a song on the radio or in a store and it instantly transforms you to another time, a happy place or a sad spot in your life.
I remember certain songs in my life, mainly ones though that call up my childhood or capture moments we tend to often forget.
Summer, though, is the perfect time for making musical memories. And many of you put together your own soundtracks of songs that will help you remember every summer.
My wife, son and I commented that this year's summer songs aren't very good.
But last year's music offered a soundtrack featuring Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks," Hot Chelle Rae's "Tonight, Tonight" and Cobra Starship's "You Make Me Feel Good."
Since my son is 9, I took a liking to a lot of the new music even though my tastes are mainly Classic Rock.
All I remember from the radio in the Summer of 2010 was Train's "Hey Soul Sister." You couldn't move without hearing that song.
For those of us in our mid-40s and older, you can't go a summer without listening to Jimmy Buffett or The Beach Boys.
The Beach Boys are celebrating 50 years together this year. They have a new album out and I got to see their reunion tour with leader Brian Wilson on board for the first time in two decades.
But some songs really resonate.
I can recall opening up a package of baseball cards for the first time one summer as Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets" climbed the charts.
And every time I hear The Eagles' "One of These Nights," I'm taken back to my back yard in Delaware chasing after fireflies during the summer of 1975.
So what's on your soundtrack this summer? Drop me an email or offer some comments.
I can remember "Saturday in the Park" by Chicago and my days going to Hersheypark. And Brian Adams had that great song "Summer of '69" back in the mid-1980s.
Billboard magazine has put together a list of the top 30 summer songs. Check it out by clicking summer songs here.
Yes, it's Summertime and the living is easy.
So go "Under the Boardwalk" or on a "Surfin' Safari" to celebrate a "Saturday in the Park" or those "Endless Summer Nights." After all, it's "Hot Fun in the Summertime."

One Song That's On My summer soundtrack is ''Feelin' Groovy'' by Simon & Garfunkel. Every Year I go to Long Beach Island to see my grandparents who live there over the summer. My cousins, Wendy, Karl, Betsy and Brian, and My 91 year old great aunt Emma also come. Every year, me and Wendy take a LONG, I mean REALLY, REALLY LONG walk. This year, we walked 62 blocks, there and back. Last year, we walked 80 blocks, there and back, which was our record.
