Palmer Recycling Information on Holiday Waste
Information on recycling Christmas trees, cardboard and other holiday items for Palmer Township.
Bring it in.
If you need to discard your Christmas trees and other holiday items, you can put it all out for recycling. Or the Palmer Recycling Center may be the place to go.
Christmas trees will be picked up curbside by a recycling truck during the first three weeks of January and taken for composting.
Put them out on the same day as your trash and recycling, but keep in mind that they might not be picked up until the next day.
Please remove all plastic, tinsel, ornaments and your tree stand.
Holidays also generate lots of extra cardboard.
Please remember to flatten and bundle it (3' x 3' x 2') with twine so the material can be recycled. If you don't want to flatten or bundle, you can take it to the recycling center.
The Palmer Drop-Off Recycling Center is located on 3600 Hartley Avenue.
It is open Monday-Wednesday-Friday from noon to 4 p.m.; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The recycling center takes commingled items (glass, plastic, metal cans), mixed paper, newsprint, scrap metal, small bundles of yard waste and cardboard.
Palmer Township will begin a new waste and recycling collection contract starting May 2. Residents will be supplied with two automated toters (one for recyclables, one for waste).
