Palmer Supervisors Set Fees for BIP Pavilion
Palmer Supervisors set fees for reserving the BIP Pavilion.
Palmer Supervisors updated the township’s proposed unified fee schedule Monday night to include fees for the new pavilion at Chrin Community Center.
Donated by the Business, Industrial and Professional Association of Palmer Township, the BIP pavilion was dedicated in May.
The fee was set at $20 for residents and $30 for non-residents.
In its inaugural year, the BIP pavilion was free to use on a first-come, first- serve basis. Supervisor Robert Smith said the recreation board requested an update for the coming year.
Palmer’s other park pavilions such as those at Briarcliff and Fairview have a reservation fee of $30 for residents and $50 for non-residents. Penn Pump and Riverview Park have a $50 fee for residents and $75 for non-residents Monday through Thursday, and $75 or $100 on weekends.
Supervisors said the fees help pay for maintenance, trash removal and electricity.
The township’s new unified fee schedule was accepted in November and will be voted on at the supervisors’ next meeting.
Pavilions can be reserved from May through October at the township office. Reservation forms can also be downloaded from the township’s web site.
