Palmer Supervisors Stick With the Status Quo
Palmer supervisors re-elect their officers; the township needs a Shade Tree director.
In their reorganization meeting Tuesday night, Palmer supervisors re-elected David Colver as chairman, Robert Lammi as vice-chair and the township manager was reappointed secretary/treasurer.
All votes were unanimous.
Before the meeting, Supervisor Ann-Marie Panella was sworn in for another 6-year term. She won re-election in November, and ran unopposed.
As part of the routine appointments during reorganization meeting Township Manager Christopher Christman was made the township’s right-to-know and public records officer. And Ronald Grandinetti was reappointed to the planning commission. His four-year term ran out at the end of 2011.
The township needs to find a replacement for the director of the Shade Tree Commission. The former director left for personal reasons, Colver said. The appointment of a new director will be made at a future meeting, he said.
Finally, Police Chief Bruce Fretz said Officer James Alercia has been promoted to detective. Alercia has been a patrolman for the township for a number of years, Fretz said.
Palmer Supervisors next meet on Jan. 9.
