Power Restored for Most in Palmer/Forks

Met-Ed map indicates that more than 500 still without power in Palmer and Forks townships.

It's been a week since Hurricane Sandy hit.

But more than 500 people are still without power in Forks and Palmer townships.

Met-Ed, on its power outage map, indicated that 149 households in Forks Township and 435 in Palmer Township were still without power as of 8:15 a.m. Monday.

It is unknown when those homes will have power, but Met-Ed was working throughout the weekend to reduce those power-outage figures.

Forks and Palmer suffered severe power outages during Hurricane Sandy with Palmer taking the brunt of it.

The Palmer Park Mall was closed for four days and didn't reopen until Saturday.

The Easton Area School District was shut all week before schools reopened Monday.
