What Should Go Here? Forks Giant Shopping Center

What should fill one of the empty storefronts in the Giant Shopping Center in Forks Township?

In this new feature, we ask readers for their opinion on what stores, restaurants or businesses they would like to see in vacant locations.

It sits empty, a vacant storefront awaiting an opportunity.

In the Giant Shopping Center off Sullivan Trail in Forks Township, this empty storefront sits on the far left of the Giant food store, right next to an H&R Block office that sees little traffic during the offseason and a pizza place and Chinese restaurant.

On the other side, Something Different, a women's boutique, has just celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Nearby, the Just a Dream yogurt shop filled a vacancy six months ago.

Nearby, the Park Plaza at Sullivan Trail is getting ready to blossom. But that center will focus on certain specialty businesses.

So what should go here?

Coffee shop. Cosmic Cup is good but you basically sit on top of your neighbor. Dunkin isn't good for meetings or work space.

A really good bagel shop!! Since moving here 7 years ago, I haven't been able to find good bagels anywhere (DD is too expensive).

I agree 100%!!! I've been saying it for YEARS that we NEED a real bagel place. DD makes good coffee but bagels aren't their thing. Manhattan Bagel in Pburg is good, but I'm not driving to Pburg for a bagel.
That being said, I'm sure Giant has restrictions on what can go into anything in this strip mall...like no competition and I wonder, since they sell bagels if they won't allow a bagel place to go in there.

There are a lot of good ideas out there. The problem is the rents of these Storefronts are unaffordable to many prospective Business owners. The property owners would rather take the tax write-offs then lower the rent to fill these Storefronts.

An auto parts store was best suggestion so far but may be too small. Is there a dry cleaners anywhere up there.

How about some upscale eateries. Red Lobster? Cheesecake Factory? Hoolihans? McCormack & Schmidts? We desperately need some . I'm tired of always driving to Palmer for everything! What do we have? Woodys ? I hate that place! Way too loud! Crappy unhealthy food. Y U C K!!!
