Pretty excited about the title, I bet. Fequent readers of The Patch may remember when the dog feces numbers were in the high twenties with pictures to prove it. For 2012 there has been 38 containers of dog feces picked up along the Palmer/Bethlehem Township bike path. Thirty seven have been plastic bags. The last one was in a paper towel. This number is double the 2011 and 2010 totals. Wednesday Palmer Beautification Project members made their autumn annual bike ride from Riverview Park in Palmer to 4th street in Easton along Lehigh Drive. The attached picture shows the cache - 39 aluminum and one iron can. Good haul. About 15 less than 2011. All other discarded items were left on the ground - plastic, paper, glass, etc. Why would anyone do these things? Metal has value and can be recycled. Travel any day from Fairview Park to Riverview Park on the bike path, it is almost pristine. It is a treasure.

I love this path - thank you for helping to keep it clean. Hopefully those responsible will remember their lessons from kindergarten and clean after themselves!
