The new Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse in Allentown features a gourmet salad bar and slow-grilled meats carved table side by 'gauchos.'
The owners of The Melting Pot fondue restaurant in Bethlehem have added another unique dining experience to the Lehigh Valley restaurant scene with the opening of Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse at 2805 Lehigh Street in Allentown. Rodizio is located next to The Tilted Kilt at the site of what used to be a Bob Evans restaurant just off I-78. Rodizio features a gourmet salad bar and rotisserie grilled meats—including beef, pork, poultry and lamb—that are seasoned and slow roasted. After you visit the salad bar, return to your table where friendly "gauchos" bring steak and other roasted meat to you on a long skewer and carve it tableside. The new Beyond Cakes in Forks Township held a grand opening ceremony on Tuesday.
They came to meet and greet—and eat. Community business leaders, Forks Township officials and state Rep. Joe Emrick turned out Tuesday afternoon to welcome Beyond Cakes to the neighborhood. Owner Diane Hamilton took over the site from Antonella's Bakery about a month ago and the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce decided to honor the new business with a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting. But Hamilton provided the sweet reception. She offered up some of her tasty treats, including the numerous speciality cupcakes that make the business Beyond Cakes. With a steady decline in gas prices throughout April, the average price per gallon is nearly 45 cents lower than a year ago, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this week is $3.508 for a gallon, down .7 cents from last week. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.425 per gallon, 3.4 cents lower than a week ago, 20 cents lower than a month ago and 44.8 cents lower than a year ago. The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is also $3.463, down 2.7 cents from a week ago. There's a new business opening up in Forks Township and it might not need much of a kick start. The Combative Arts Institute will get the grand reception from the Business and Commerce Association of Forks Township and the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Friday night. After three month-closure, fast food chain opens new Northampton Street location.
Say this much for Taco Bell: they work fast. At the end of January, the chain that it was closing its locations in Wilson and Allentown. The company said it was relocating its Allentown restaurant while demolishing and rebuilding the one in Wilson. The new Forks Township bakery replaces Antonella's on Sullivan Trail.
This is going to be one sweet reception. When Antonella's bakery decided to sell its business in mid-February, the Forks Township storefront didn't stay empty for too long. And Forks Township residents didn't lose a bakery either. Out went Antonella's and in came Beyond Cakes, which will have its grand opening and ribbon cutting Tuesday. The Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold the ribbon cutting with a welcoming ceremony at the bakery on 1700 Sullivan Trail from 5-7 p.m. and the ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. The event is also sponsored by the Business and Commerce Association of Forks Township. Low demand and lower prices for crude oil continue to drive gas prices downward, according to AAA’s fuel report. In Pennsylvania, the average for a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.490 per gallon down 6.2 cents from a week ago. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.459 per gallon, 6.3 cents lower than a week ago, 19.2 cents lower than a month ago and 46.6 cents lower than a year ago. Locally, the cheapest price is $3.36 per gallon at Wawa, $3.38 at Giant and $3.40 at Weis in Palmer Township and $3.60 at the Giant on Sullivan Trail in Forks Township. As a season pass holder we go as soon as they open, head to the water park and stay for a few hours and then go home and have lunch at home. It works out well for us because we only live 15, or so mins, away. I can't take the crowds !!! Going after 5 is good too especially during the week.
