Few Changes for Forks Community Days

Brian Lokitis, who organizes Forks Community Days, plans a few tweaks for next year's event.

The recent Forks Township Community Days has been praised over the past month by township supervisors and business officials for its success.

Now comes word from its organizer.

Brian Lokitis, who oversees the planning for the annual event, said turnout for September's two-day festival was "by far the best ever."

Erik Chuss, chairman of the Forks Township Board of Supervisors, discussed Forks Community Days at a recent business roundtable discussion.

"It was phenomenal," Chuss said in thanking Lokitis and the Business and Commerce Association of Forks Township for their efforts.

"The location changed this past year. But the response was phenomenal. The crowds were great. It was really something."

Lokitis said one issue that was raised was getting more handicapped bathrooms.

He said the biggest change to come for next year was locating the entire event around the amphitheater.

This past year, a good portion of the event was by the amphitheater, but some booths and activities remained near the tennis and basketball courts of Forks Community Park.
