And now that the Fourth of July festivities are over, it's time to really get intense over summer. We're talking extreme heat and last Saturday's 99-degree weather should be a sign of things to come for the rest of the week.

Luckily, at least for a short period, the weather is going to be a little cooler. So enjoy the break.

So here is the latest addition of this week.

Our weekly feature every Monday takes a look at what's ahead of us for the week. Now that the weekend is in our rear-view mirror, we can get ready for news and information that might make your week a little lighter and brighter.

1. After canceling last week's meeting, the Palmer Township Board of Supervisors is back in business, holding its first meeting of the month on Monday night in the library conference room at 7. The agenda features the appointment of a tax collector and a tax appeal.

2. Starting Monday, will have nighttime lane restrictions between the 25th Street interchange and the 4th Street interchange so the highway can be rehabilitated in Palmer Township, Easton and Wilson Borough. PennDOT stated that lane restrictions will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday nights through Thursday mornings. The project is expected to last through October.

3. Major League Baseball reaches its midway point with Tuesday's All-Star Game. The annual contest between the American League and National League will feature three this year: Catcher Carlos Ruiz, pitcher Cole Hamels and closer Jonathan Papelbon.

4. The Sounds of Summer concert series resumes Wednesday with Desire taking the stage at the . Showtime starts at 6:30 p.m.

5. The Forks Township Planning Commission is expected to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday.
