Forks Man Chamber's Volunteer of Year

Brian Lokitis has served as president of Forks business association and runs Forks Community Days.

He's served as president of the Business and Commerce Association of Forks Township.

And he's coordinated the annual Forks Community Days for the past few years.

Due to those efforts and many others, Forks Township resident Brian Lokitis will be the recipient of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce's Volunteer of the Year Award.

"Passion, dedication, and leadership are the first three words that come to mind when asked to describe Brian Lokitis," said Alison Miers, the chamber's vice president of Easton Initiatives. "He gives so much of himself to help in bettering the community as whole."

Miers said the chamber is lucky to have Lokitis and others who give their time and effort to better the region.

"We have many volunteers that provide countless hours to our chamber; we are very grateful and humbled to have such a strong support system in this Lehigh Valley," she said.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center.

Lokitis has been instrumental in bolstering Forks Community Days, adding a beer tent, more booths and rides and other attractions.

As head of BCAF, Lokitis helped lead the charge on launching a business roundtable meeting and getting welcome signs for Forks Township.

"I was very surprised," Lokitis said about the award. "When they first told me, I thought it was a joke. I'm very humbled by it. So many people are deserving. But I'm very happy."
