Forks Supervisor Candidates Meet

League of Women Voters Hosts Forum for candidates

It was a full house last night at the Forks Township Community Center and not for the latest Zumba class. Voters came out to hear candidates for the township Board of Supervisors give their best pitch.

Six candidates are vying for two available seats -- a four-year term and a six-year term -- in the May 17 primary.

On hand last night were Supervisors Lilly Gioia and C. David Howell, both Democrats. Gioia is running for a four-year term while Howell is running for a six-year term.

Martyak and Parke are running for the four-year and six-year seats while Wambold is running for just the six-year seat. Although running as a Republican, Martyak said his candidacy is not affiliated with Parke's.

Questions ranged from taxes, ratables, government transparency, the parks system, recreation, open space, the proposed amphitheater and the public works building.
