Mutt Strut Halloween Parade Returns for 5th Year

Doggie Day in Bethlehem Sunday will mean a howling good time on Main Street for costumed pets and their owners.

Bethlehem’s Main Street will go to the dogs on Sunday. Specifically, dogs wearing Halloween costumes. It is once again time for Doggie Day in the Historic Downtown.

The fifth-annual event will be presented by the Downtown Bethlehem Association from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will once again feature the “Mutt Strut” Doggie Halloween Parade.

The suggested registration fee is $10 and proceeds will be shared with the Center for Animal Health and Welfare. All registrants will receive a special goodie bag and raffle ticket to win more prizes.

Local “celebrities” will judge five categories. The five parade categories are:

  1. Spirit of Bethlehem
  2. Scariest costume
  3. Most creative costume
  4. Dog / Owner costume look-alike
  5. Open Category

Doggie Day will also feature a marketplace of nearly 30 dog-related businesses that will have information, giveaways and more throughout the afternoon.

If it rains Sunday, the event will be postponed until Saturday, Oct. 27. An announcement will be made this Saturday night if postponement becomes necessary.
