Where to Watch Fireworks This Weekend

Celebrate Independence Day with one of these events over the holiday weekend.

t’s that time of year when everyone digs up their best red, white and blue attire and heads out for a weekend of hot dogs, potato salad and other picnic fare.

Independence Day is also a super time to take advantage of the free family entertainment. Here is a list of local fireworks displays throughout the greater Lehigh Valley:

City of Bethlehem: July 4 (Noon to 9:30 p.m.)

Bethlehem Steel Stacks - FREE Entertainment includes these events at Air Products Town Square:

Noon to 6 p.m. - Children's Craft Area

Noon to 2 p.m. - Apple Pie Eating Contest

Noon to 5:30 p.m. - Once Upon a Nation

Noon to 5:30 p.m. - Chris Ruggerio

5:30 to 7:30 p.m. - Junk Rock

8 p.m - Allentown Symphony at Levitt Pavilion Steel Stacks

Dusk - Fireworks display follows the concert. This promises to be an amazing display right at the old Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces.

 

City of Allentown: July 4 (6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) 

J. Birney Crum Stadium - Admission is free to the stadium, but donations are welcome. Fireworks display can be seen from all over the city and outlying areas.

 

Dorney Park: July 3 & 4 (9:30 p.m.)

Admission is required to enter Dorney Park. However, you can take the family to any of the surrounding parking lots or parks to view the fireworks.

You can also grab a $1 hot fudge sundae at the nearby , or go for the real deal at  on Hamilton Boulevard.

 

Upper Macungie Township: July 3 (8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)
** Rain Date, July 4

, Breinigsville

The township hosts its own free fireworks show, set to patriotic and contemporary rock music. Bring your own chair or blanket.

 

Borough of Quakertown: July 4 (7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) 

Quakertown Memorial Park

The Quakertown Band will host a free show starting at 7:30 p.m.

Fireworks display will follow at the park on Mill Street in Quakertown.
