Winter Storm Watch for Forks, Palmer

Snow could fall Saturday as temperatures fall

Mother Nature is going in disguise for Halloween as Old Man Winter.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Forks and Palmer townships and the Lehigh Valley and points north and east.

The watch calls for up to six inches of snow in the affected areas, particularly in higher mountain elevations.

However, the weather service forecast is only calling for about an inch of snow to fall starting late Friday night and into a chilly Saturday when the forecast high temperature is only 41 degrees for our area.

But don't expect to see much snow when you go trick-or-treating on Monday. Because the ground is still warm, the snow won't stick on the ground.
