CVS Opening Sunday in Palmer

CVS developer asks for extension until summer to complete work at Palmer Township site.

It's finally opening.

The new CVS in Palmer Township may be opening Sunday, Palmer Supervisors Chairman Dave Colver said Wednesday morning.

Palmer Township officials announced Monday night that the developer of the CVS has asked for an extension to do more improvements at the site.

Township Solicitor Charles Bruno informed the Palmer Township Board of Supervisors Monday night that Strausser Enterprises sent him a letter seeking an extension.

Bruno said the request is for an extension on the project at the corner of Northwood Avenue and Route 248 until June 30.

Bruno said the township's engineer was also supportive of the recommendation.

CVS is part of a project at that corner that is expected to also add a Sheetz convenience store/gas station and maybe a strip mall of several businesses down the road.

The CVS building has looked completed for a month or so and township officials believed the business would open before the holidays or at least sometime this month.
