Easton Hospital's CEO has stepped down after nearly three years on the job.

Brian Finestein resigned "recently," according to a statement from Stephen Wilson, the hospital's vice president of marketing. It was not immediately clear the resignation occurred, or what prompted it.

Easton Hospital operates a health care center on Sullivan Trail in Forks Township.

"As we continue the search to identify a candidate to fill the role of CEO, John Zidansek will serve as interim CEO," Wilson wrote. "John has served as CEO of Lock Haven Hospital for the past two years."

Finestein became the CEO of Easton Hospital in September 2010. Prior to that, he was CEO of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in the Philadelphia area.

During his time at Easton, Finestein oversaw the launch of an urgent care center in Wind Gap, as well as the opening of a new health center in Forks Township.
