Easton Hospital "Opens" Forks Center

Easton Hospital officials celebrate its new Forks Township branch with a grand opening Tuesday afternoon.

It's the anchor right now of the new Park Plaza at Sullivan Trail.

And after being open since August, Easton Hospital's wellness and health center was officially opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

"This is a major ambulatory hub serving Forks Township and surrounding communities," Easton Hospital CEO Brian Finestein said. "We were looking for a place along Sullivan Trail and this was good space. It's easy access and not too far away from the main hospital."

The 16,000-square-foot wellness center offers everything from physician office hours, imaging services, a lab and walk-in care with no appointment necessary during certain hours.

Finestein said that he hopes to add physical therapy service by the end of the year and mammography services sometime next year.

"We want it to be fully functional," he said.

Alison Miers, vice president of Easton Initiatives for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, was on hand for the dedication.

"This is a huge addition to the Plaza and the Forks Township business community," Miers said.

Forks Supervisor David Billings said the facility will be welcomed by all residents.

"I think this is fantastic," he said. "It's great as an anchor here. And it's very convenient. This helps people get appointments on their way to or home from work. I'm really happy about it."

The wellness center hours are:

  • Physicians at Park Plaza -- Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Easton Laboratory -- Monday-Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
  • Easton Imaging at Park Plaza -- Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Walk-in Care -- Monday-Friday, noon-8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Easton Hospital is a 253-bed acute care teaching hospital serving more than 300,000 residents in Northampton County and the five surrounding counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
