Fiat Reacts to Palmer Park Mall Closure

Manager at Fiat of Lehigh Valley explains departure from Palmer Park Mall after nearly two years.

Fiat of Lehigh Valley is alive and kicking....just not at Palmer Park Mall.

In responding to a story reported on Patch.com Wednesday, Jacqueline Voutsinas, manager at Fiat of Lehigh Valley, sent an email wanting to clarify the car delaership's departure from the Palmer Township mall after almost two years.

"Your story makes it sound as if FIAT of Lehigh Valley is no longer in business. That is not the case," she said. "We are still open."

She said the operation is located in Easton and that a dealership will be constructed there as well in the near future.

"We would still be in the Palmer Park Mall right this minute if it weren't for the fact that construction is about to begin on the Fiat dealership that is being built for us," Voutsinas said.

"When our lease agreement ended, we requested to renew our lease on a month-to-month basis instead of the usual 12-month lease agreement, but our request was denied," she added.

"Since our building will be finished in less than a year we obviously opted not to renew the lease," she said. "However we are still very much in business and still located in Easton."

Fiat opened its dealership in the mall in August 2011 next to Schuylkill Valley Sports and near the entrance to The Bon-Ton.
