Casino Night Highlights Business in Forks Township

The Forks Business & Commerce Association is holding a Casino Night at the Olde Mill Yoga Studio Saturday to support local business and community initiatives.

 

The Forks Business & Commerce Association will hold its second fundraiser with a Casino Night from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

The event will take place at the , 336 Bushkill St.

"We wanted to try something different instead of the old 'let's eat, drink and be merry' event," said Alison Miers, vice president of Easton initiatives for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

She said Casino Night is geared around St. Patrick's Day with additional chips given out to the winner dressed in the best holiday theme attire.

Games will include Poker, Black Jack, Roulette, slot machines and Easton area business All About Fun will provide the tables, slots, wheels and games.

The cost is $35 with drinks and hors d'oeuvres provided. Forks Beverage at Town Center Boulevard is providing the beer. Music will be performed by Chuck Schubert.

"You gamble, but you don't win money; you win tickets," Miers said.

Then you can place the tickets in baskets for certain prizes that will be raffled off. She said about 75 to 100 people are expected at the event.

There will be about 40 prizes up for grabs, including wine baskets, gift certificates to restaurants from , a year membership to the YMCA, spa certificates, four sets of tickets to the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, hotel packages from the Hampton Inn and Marriott suites, passes for the Crayola Experience, tickets to see The Rat Pack at the State Theatre in Easton, and certificates for Sam's Club, Weis markets and Five Guys hamburgers.

is the top sponsor of the event, Miers said.

"This event allows us, as a three-year organization, to participate in community involvement and promote our businesses as well. A lot of people don't really know what these businesses have to offer."
