In the dark along the Lehigh River on the Palmer bike path

Update on Palmer bike path tree removal

Late Wednesday afternoon members of the Palmer Township Beautification Project finished clearing a section of the bike path which had forced bicycle riders and walkers to go off of the macadam. The section from Riverview Park to the township line is clear for at least single lane bicycling.  There are still trees down which block part of the width of the path. The bike path spur which turns off of the section along the Lehigh River and leads up to Bethlehem Township and eventually Fairview Park is still blocked by several large trees. Several weeks ago it was comical to see another gentleman and I going for the same plastic bottle laying on the street.  It was obvious that he was because he had a plastic bag attached to his bicycle handlebars filled with items he had picked up on his ride along the Lehigh River to Bethlehem. What all people want to know is how many plastic bags with dog feces have been picked up that were left on the ground in 2012. 57.
