5 Things Dropped at Midnight that Aren't Balls

Tonight's the night, what will you watch drop?

The countdown has begun, it's almost 2012! And while a million people are expected to cram into Times Square to watch the ball drop, here are a few other options for you to ponder.

5. A Crayon- The Crayola Factory in Easton will host its annual kid-friendly event. which includes a 10-foot-long Crayola Crayon at 8pm. Early enough for kids to get in on the excitement and for you to head out to see Allentown drop...

4. A Bell- This year, Allentown is celebrating its 250th anniversary with a bell drop, designed by the DaVinci Center. The event, which Allentown hopes will become annual, also nods to A-town's claim to fame...when the Liberty Bell was hidden from the British during the Revolutionary War. 3. A Strawberry- That's right, folks. Harrisburg-ians raise their eyes to gaze at a giant lighted fruit dropping from the sky. It's quite the shindig, with foods, bands, activities for the kids, and of course, a giant piece of fruit. A little too tame for your tastes? Why not head to Pottsville to see them drop...

2. A Yuengling Beer- Technically this giant fiberglass beer is raised, not lowered (because you're not supposed to drop a beer bottle) in Garfield Square, Pottsville, Pa., home of Yuengling Brewery. Why not raise a glass (a GIANT one) to welcome 2012? Or, stay a little closer to home to see Bethlehem drop...

1. A Giant Peep- It's big, it's yellow, it's supposed to be a chick-shaped marshmallow. It's time for the culmination of , the giant Peep drop. This yellow fiberglass fowl comes down from above after a week of bands, events and activities.

No matter how you choose to ring in the New Year, have a great, safe night!
