A family party was marred by near tragedy when a child almost drowned at a Palmer Township home on the Fourth of July.

A two-year-old boy nearly drowned at a birthday party at a Palmer Township home on Thursday evening, according to a WFMZ report.

The child was rushed to a hospital and is reported to be doing well, according to Lehigh Valley Live.

Every day, about ten people die from unintentional drowning. Of these, two are children aged 14 or younger, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
