Child Abuse Campaign Kicks Off in Palmer

Beverly Palm Jewelers in Palmer Township hosts F.A.C.E.S. fundraising campaign kickoff Wednesday against child abuse.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds.

As April is National Child Abuse Awareness month, supporters are taking action to stop secrets of abuse by sponsoring an upcoming event "Sinatra at the Sands" on April 27.

Pre-registered adult guests will enjoy songs by Frank Sinatra performer Rich DeSimone, a reception, cocktails and live and silent auctions.

Proceeds will benefit the "Hope Campaign to STOP Secrets of Abuse in the Northeast," which is a call to action and commitment to raise awareness and $182,500 toward building prevention and education services, often the first programs seeing funding cuts.

To date, event volunteers raised $15,011 toward the overarching campaign goal.

"Achieving our campaign goal will allow us to provide 5 prevention, education services each day for one year in honor of the 5 children who lose their lives each day due to abuse," said Jennifer Grube, Founder, President and CEO. "This is clearly an impactful project that will focus on ending secrets of abuse by building regional partnerships and resources to educate adults and children, prevent the crime and ultimately keep kids safe—one community and one child at a time."

Beverly Palm Jewelers is an event Gold Sponsor who donated an exquisite auction item. An exceptional diamond and gold necklace has a retail value of $6,800.

Bronze sponsor donors to date include: First National Bank ($5,000), The Capobianco Family Foundation, Olson E-Bay Project ($856), Attorney Dave Ceraul ($500), Merchants Bank ($500), Special Events Tent & Party Rentals ($500) and Veterans Project ($555). Grube responds, "We are humbled by the generosity of such fine people as this awesome group raised $15,511 even before the songs of Sinatra have begun!"

F.A.C.E.S. Faith, Accountability, Community, Education and Services is a community benefit organization with a vision to end child abuse. It works toward a vision through The Educational Institute, prevention and counseling services.

For over a decade, advocates with over 125 years of experience in human services have been driven toward a vision to end child abuse. Uniquely, F.A.C.E.S. is not dependent on federal or state funding, thus private support enables the organization to provide quality, client-driven services impacting dozens of children and families in Northeastern USA.
