Deliberations Set For NJ Man on Trial for 2009 Buglaries in Forks

Lawyers for Anthony Hernandez-Acosta say he was trying to hide informant status

A New Jersey man currently on trial for 11 burglaries in the Easton area is claiming to have only committed the crimes because he was working as an informant for the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, according to a report published in the Morning Call.

Anthony Hernandez-Acosta, 38 of Woodbridge Township, NJ is accused of burglarizing 11 homes, nine of which are in Forks Township, between December 2009 and May 2010. The buglaries were committed with Sebastian Alonso, an alleged "king pin" with the Latin Kings gang.

But prosecutors say Hernandez-Acosta, an alleged Latin King gang member, is using his informant status to try to justify crimes, the reports say.
