Five Things to Know for Aug. 13-18

Palmer Township kicks off its annual Community Days Wednesday, on the same day that the Philadelphia Eagles end their training camp at Lehigh University.

Go out and enjoy those last "unofficial" weeks of summer because they're winding down. Get to the beach or the Jersey Shore before it's too late.

This is a big week for Palmer Township with the start of Palmer Township Community Days.

So here is the latest addition of showcasing what's to come this week.

Our weekly feature every Monday takes a look at what's ahead of us for the week. Now that the weekend is in our rear-view mirror, we can get ready for news and information that might make your week a little lighter and brighter.

1. The Palmer Township Board of Supervisors meets Monday. The meeting is 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Palmer library. To see the agenda, visit the township's website.

2. Forks Township holds another concert under the stars with the James Supra Band playing Wednesday night at the amphitheater.

3. The  will wrap up training camp at Lehigh University this week on Wednesday, ending more than three weeks of training at the college. The team does not take the field this week for its next exhibition game, which will be against the New England Patriots on Monday.

4. After nearly a month, the Forks Township Board of Supervisors will hold a meeting Thursday night, starting with a worksession at 6:30 and then the regular meeting at 7:30.

5. kicks off with Movie Night Wednesday, an appearance by the Thursday and fireworks Saturday. Festivities go on Thursday through Sunday.
