Five Things to Look For This Week

National yo-yo day! First Star Bank hearing continues.

Here's a list of five things to look for this week in Palmer and Forks townships: 

1. Today is National yo-yo day! Although the true origins of the yo-yo are highly disputed, it is believed that the handy little gadget was invented somewhere in China.

2. The scheduled Palmer Township Board of Supervisors meeting has been cancelled. The next scheduled meeting is set for June 13.

3. The Easton Area School District has scheduled a special meeting for 6:30 tonight. The meeting has been set to hire a new Chief Operating Officer.

The position was created to replace current Business Administrator Marie Guidry and Assistant to the Superintendent Joe Kish. Both have announced plans to retire. The new position will merge both jobs into one.

The board will meet in the Easton Area Education Center, 1801 Bushkill Drive, Forks Township.

4. The Palmer Township Zoning Hearing Board will meet 7:30pm Tuesday. Of note on the agenda is the continuance of a hearing for First Star Bank for a proposed electronic sign board.

The board meets in the meeting room of the Palmer Memorial Library, 1 Weller Place.

5. The Forks Township Planning Commission will meet at 7pm Thursday in the municipal building, 1606 Sullivan Trail.
