Robert Lasso Memorial Run is April 20: Register

The 5K run in memory of fallen Freemansburg Police Officer Robert Lasso will begin and finish at the Bethlehem YMCA. Proceeds from the run will be donated to a memorial fund.

Proceeds from the run will be donated to the Robert Lasso Memorial Fund, which benefits Lasso's widow and two children.

Palmer Township held a T-shirt fundraiser for Lasso at its Community Days two years ago.

The 5K race will begin and end at the Bethlehem YMCA, 430 E. Broad St., with awards to be given in the Overall Male and Female and Masters Male and Female categories.

The race course is described by organizers as "mostly flat and fast...with two challenging inclines to start and finish."

The registration fee for the run is $25. Checks should be made payable to The Bethlehem Police Department Wish Fund and mailed with registration forms to the Bethlehem Police Department Runners Club, 10 E. Church St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.

A downloadable registration form will be available on the City of Bethlehem website.

Race packets will be available for pickup at the Bethlehem YMCA on April 19 from noon to 8pm and April 20 from 7am to 8am.

Following registration, the race will begin at 8:30am.
