Mark Your Calendar - Electronic Recycling Event for May 21st

In the past the Two Rivers Council of Governments, Palmer Township Environmental Steering Committee and Northampton County have sponsored an Electronic Recycling Events at the EAHS Parking Lot. Another event will take place on May 21, 2011 from 9 AM to 2 PM. So please begin to store your discarded electronic "junk". For those of you who will be disposing of your television because of the change to digital please don't throw it in the trash but rather store it and bring it to the ecycling event.

By participating, you will be conserving natural resources and protecting the environment from significant amounts of heavy metals found in electronic equipment that are poisonous to human health and the environment. To read more about electronic recycling and keeping these items out of the waste stream read the EPA publication - Electronics: A New Opportunity for Waste Prevention, Reuse, and Recycling.

Northampton County Department of Community and Economic Development is coordinating this event along with events in two other locations in the county. The information on these events is outlined in the counties brochure.
