Armed Home Invasion Reported in Wilson

Police say five men with guns broke into woman's home on N. 16th Street, took cash.

Police in Wilson are looking for five armed men who forced their way into a woman's home Saturday night.

Police say the home invasion was reported around 11 p.m. on the first block of N. 16th Street by a 33-year-old woman who said there were five men with guns outside her house.

When officers responded, the men had left. The woman told police they had forced their way into the house and demanded money. Two of them went to her bedroom and took a lockbox containing $500 in cash and some personal papers.

They fled west on Spring Garden Street, police said. No injuries were reported.

The robbers were all black men in their mid-20s, police said.

Four of them were of average height and weight. One was taller and had short hair. Two of them wore masks, and one had dreadlocks. All five wore gray or black-hooded sweatshirts. Four of them carried handguns, while the fifth had a shotgun.

Easton police assisted Wilson at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Chris Meehan at 610-258-8542.

Home invasions are increasing rapidly. These thugs know that there is less of a chance getting caught burglarizing a home then robbing businesses. So stay safe, be vigilant, install deadbolts and keep alarm activated. If you don't have an alarm system try the United States Security Company Directory ( USSCD) for great affordable home security options.

You never need a gun until you need one badly.
