Bethlehem Man Attempts to Steal Woman's Purse Outside Redner's

Police said he hit the woman several times and tore her clothing in a failed attempt to steal her purse.

Police say a Bethlehem Township man admitted to trying to steal a woman's purse at a Palmer Township supermarket because he was upset after breaking up with his fiancee.

Evan Michael Radice, 21, of 3923 Suncrest Lane, was arrested Saturday after attacking the woman at the Redner's Warehouse Markets on Nicholas Street in Palmer, according to court records. Police said he hit the woman several times and tore her clothing in a failed attempt to steal her purse. He later told police "something in his head" told him to try to grab the woman's purse.

He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Corpora in Easton and charged with robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. He was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
