Buckle Up PA Progam Under Way

Holiday weekend travelers buckle up!

Drivers beware this Memorial Day weekend.

If you don’t do it by now, police in Palmer and Forks townships will be out on heavy patrol watching for seatbelt offenders. From now until June 12, Buckle Up PA will be in effect.

Buckle Up PA is a project funded through the state Department of Transportation dedicated to raising seatbelt use through increased enforcement, public awareness and education. Approximately 660 departments and the Pennsylvania State Police will participate with the National Highway Traffic Safety Association and law enforcement agencies across the United States, according to the Pennsylvania Traffic Safety Enforcement Resource Center.
