Cops find Pot in Zip-Lock Baggie
A 19-year-old Palmer man was arrested Friday for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Police knocked on the front door of a home around 6 a.m. Friday, went upstairs and found a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to court records.
They also arrested Fernando Arreola Jr., 19, who was later charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
Police arrived at the home at 3137 Glen Ave. with a search warrant approved the day before by of Palmer Township.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Palmer Det. James Alercia, a member of the police force’s vice division and the Northampton County Drug Task Force, the following was seized from Arreola’s second-floor bedroom:
- One AWS 1000 digital scale with suspected marijuana residue on the weigh scale.
- A small, clear zip-lock baggie with green and brown vegetation inside – suspected to be marijuana. Also, a large, clear zip-lock baggie with green and brown vegetation inside.
- Numerous empty zip-lock baggies.
- $143 in cash.
- Numerous burnt “roaches” suspected to be marijuana.
Arreola was arraigned later Friday by Taschner and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
