Woman Found Shot to Death in Easton

Police say witnesses heard gunshots around the time woman's body discovered on Peach Street.

Easton police say a woman was found shot to death late Sunday night in the city's West Ward.

According to police, the woman's body was discovered in a pick-up truck on the 100 block of Peach Street—an alley between 13th and 14th streets— at around 11:32 p.m. She remained unidentified by authorities as of 9 p.m. Monday.

Although no ruling has come in from Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek, police say they are investigating the case as a homicide.

Police say witnesses heard gunshots in the area before the woman's body was discovered. However, they said they would not yet release how many times the woman was shot.

Video from NBC 10 shows police towing a dark green pick-up truck with a paw print bumper sticker from the scene.

A Patch reader said police had blocked off Ferry Street at 13th Street before midnight Sunday.

Police ask anyone with information to call detectives at 610-759-2200, 610-250-6656 or the police tip line at 610-250-6635.

Assuming the death is ruled a homicide, it will be the third homicide in the city this year.

In February, Damien Robinson was shot to death at downtown bar Eddie G's. His killing—which police have said is gang-related—is still under investigation.

Last month, Francis Roscioli was charged with homicide by vehicle in the death of Abraham Rivera on Lehigh Drive.

A homicide ruling would also make her the first female homicide victim in Easton since Christmas Eve 2010, when Kimiko Moon was shot and fatally wounded at her home in the city's Highlands section.
