Bomb Scare at Easton High School Reported

The Easton Area High School was evacuated Tuesday

The Easton Area School District sent out an alert Tuesday afternnon that its high school was evacuated earlier in the day due to a bomb threat.

The alert states that at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday there was a building evacuation at Easton Area High School due to a bomb threat.

Students and staff were evacuated. Security, custodial staff, and principals checked the building for anything suspicious, the alert states.

The Palmer Fire Department and Palmer Police responded.

Students and staff were admitted back into the building at 1:10 p.m., the alert states.

Police scanner transmissions indicated an evacuation was under way because of a bomb threat.

The Northampton County control center confirmed the evacuation report to Patch, but a Patch editor who went to the school found there to be no problem.

A Palmer Township police officer on the scene told Patch "it was nothing" when asked about an evacuation and bomb scare before driving away.
