Easton Woman Angered by Vehicle Tow Faces Charges

Donna Moyer, 46, of Easton was driving through Lower Nazareth Township with a suspended license and registration when police stopped her vehicle and called for a tow truck.

An Easton woman currently on probation for stealing about $4,000 from her employer is facing new charges after allegedly refusing to exit her vehicle while it was being impounded.

Donna Moyer, 46, of the 100 block of W. Madison St., was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and several traffic offenses for the Dec. 26 incident, according to Colonial Regional Police.

In September 2011, Moyer was charged with stealing about $4,000 in cash from Wal-Mart when she was an employee at the Northampton Crossings store.

Around noon Dec. 26, Colonial Regional Officer Matt Antonucci stopped a white Pontiac Grand Am with a suspended registration.

Antonucci stopped the vehicle at Northwood Avenue and Easton-Nazareth Highway (Route 248). He soon discovered that the driver, later identified as Moyer, also had a suspended license.

Antonucci advised Moyer that her vehicle would be towed. But as the tow-truck driver arrived and prepared his truck for the tow, Moyer became angry and refused to exit her vehicle, police say.

Despite several commands from Antonucci to exit her vehicle, Moyer continued to refuse. She then put her vehicle into drive and told the officer she was leaving.

Moyer put the car back into park when Antonucci unlocked and opened the driver’s side door. According to police, Moyer continued to struggle with Antonucci as he pulled her from the car.
