Eight Thefts Top Forks Crime Report

The Forks Township Police Department handled 535 calls in its latest crime report.

The Forks Township Police Department handled 535 criminal incidents during the month of March.

Police Chief Greg Dorney issued the report, which showed three retail thefts over $200 and two others over $200 regarding a vehicle and a building. Three other thefts from $50 to $200 were also reported.

The police department also handled 43 911 calls and handed out 124 traffic citations.

Among other crime highlights were:

  • Two harassment cases.
  • Four each for fraud and criminal mischief to automobiles.
  • Four criminal mischief reports and cases.
  • One marijuana possession.
  • Ten dog law and game law violations.
  • Six motor vehicle accidents.
  • 32 suspicious persons or vehicles.
  • 45 unfounded service call alarms.
  • 11 fire alarms.
  • 25 traffic and parking problems.
  • 19 traffic violations.
  • 45 calls for medical assistance.
  • 27 calls for officer assistance.
  • 39 public service reports.
  • Ten calls to assist other police departments.
Dorney said he is preparing the police reports for Palmer-Forks Patch for April, May and June.
