Forks Police Handled 631 Calls for April
Forks Township Police Chief Greg Dorney said calls are down 21 percent from same period a year ago.
Forks Township Police Chief Greg Dorney has reported that his police department handled 631 calls for April, down 21 percent from 799 for the same period a year ago.
CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
- 12 thefts, including three cases of $200 or more being stolen from an automobile or home, five of $50 to $200 from a vehicle and two of $50 to $200 from a bike or elsewhere.
- 10 disturbances, including eight that were domestic and an abuse incident regarding a family.
- Two incidents of harassment.
- An assault with a dangerous weapon.
- Two cases of trespassing.
- 26 reports of suspicious persons or vehicles.
- Three cases of fraud.
- Eight cases of property damage.
- Six cases of criminal mischief.
- Three missing persons reports.
There were also one case each of harassment by communication, a protective order, public drunkenness, a forcible fondling, a runaway involving a female and one narcotics report.

- 77 traffic citations and five non-traffic citations
- 45 traffic and parking problems
- 26 reportable accidents
- Three drunken driving incidents
- 11 motor vehicle accidents
- 8 cases of careless driving
- 10 traffic violations
- 4 traffic-related incidents
- Traffic signal out.

The police department assisted the Forks Township Fire Department twice during April and helped other police departments seven times during the month.
