UPDATE: Forks Crash Kills Father, Daughter

Second victim dies in fatal crash in Forks Township Tuesday afternoon that claimed life of father.

Forks Township police are investigating the cause of a fatal crash that killed a township resident and his daughter Tuesday.

WMFZ reported that a 6-year-old girl who was hurt in the crash died of her injuries.

A 47-year-old man was killed in the one-car crash on Paxinosa Road East Tuesday afternoon, the Easton Express-Times reported.

The newspaper reported that, according to authorities, the car hit a tree and killed a father while severely injuring his female daughter. The names of the victims were not released, the story states.

Police Chief Greg Dorney said Wednesday morning that no names were released until next of kin could be notified. He said the coroner's office would release the name of the victim.

Dorney said the girl was taken to Easton Hospital with severe injuries. But WFMZ reported that the coroner today pronounced her dead.

In the past weeks, Forks Township police have handled an armed robbery and a suicide.
