Forks May Be Linked To Easton, Wilson Robberies

A series of armed holdups in Easton and Wilson are connected, police say.

Three people were robbed at gunpoint in less than two hours Saturday night in Wilson and downtown Easton.

That's not a coincidence, according to police. And Forks Township might be linked as well.

Easton police Inspector Daniel Regan tells the Express-Times that all three robberies are "definitely related."

At 8:50 p.m. Saturday, a 16-year-old girl was robbed by two men on Freemansburg Avenue in Wilson. One of the men held a gun on her, and the pair got away with her purse and her cell phone.

About an hour later in Easton, a man and woman were walking along the 100 block of N. Bank Street just before 10 p.m. when two men approached. One of them pointed a gun at the woman and took off with her purse.

While officers were investigating this robbery, another man came forward and said he'd also just been robbed at gunpoint in the first block of N. Bank Street.

In all three cases, the suspects matched the same description: The gunman was a shorter, heavy-set black male in a red sweatshirt, while his partner was a taller, thinner black male in a blue sweatshirt or jacket.

The two men might also be responsible for another local robbery -- the holdup of Mel's Doggie Shop in Forks Township last week.
