Glass Object Used in Forks Domestic Scuffle

Forks Township woman injured during domestic dispute Tuesday night.

A Forks Township woman was holding a towel to her head when police arrived about a domestic dispute Tuesday night at the upscale home on Steeplechase Drive.

The towel appeared to be covered in blood – caused when her husband allegedly threw a glass object that hit her head and opened up a cut that required about 10 stitches to close, court records say.

The records do not say if the husband, Jose Emilio Menjivar, 40, was home when police talked to his wife, but he was arraigned later Tuesday night on charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

The suspect’s wife, Glenda Italia Menjivar, told police her husband punched her three to four times on the left side of the face and also grabbed the glass object, which hit the top of her head when he threw it, the records say.

Glenda Menjivar was taken to Easton Hospital for treatment. The records do not say what triggered the incident.

Jose Menjivar was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Diane Marakovits of Northampton and committed to Northampton County Prison after failing to post $20,000 bail.
