Fatal Shooting May Be Gang Related, Police Say

Easton police are looking for two 'persons of interest' following a deadly shooting that may involve members of the Bloods gang.

A man was shot dead after a bar fight early Saturday and Easton police say they're not getting much cooperation from the patrons who were there.

They're looking for two "persons of interest" who left the bar after the shooting.

Police went to Eddie G's Bar at 1 Lehn's Court at about 12:15 a.m. responding to a report of shots fired. They found a man shot who later died at a local hospital, although police did not identify which one.

Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek ruled the death a homicide. It was the city's first homicide of the year.

The victim is Damien Robinson, also known as Damien Frazier, 33, of the 1300 block of Lehigh Street, according to a Morning Call report.

An argument and fight among "numerous individuals" in the bar preceded the shooting, police say. Police added that they have information indicating the argument involved Bloods gang members suspected to be from the Newark, N.J., area.

Police are still processing evidence from the scene, according to a press release issued Saturday morning.

Police are searching for two "persons of interest:"

  • A 6-foot-1 black man with a heavy build and long dreadlocks. He was wearing dark clothing and was seen leaving from the front of the bar.
  • A black man of average height and weight with a full beard or goatee. He was wearing an orange sweatshirt/jacket with white writing and reportedly fled out of the back door onto Pine Street.

Police are also trying to identify "numerous individuals" who fled the bar after the shooting before officers arrived.

Any information pertaining to the homicide can be directed to Det. Matt Rush at 610-250-6639 or the Easton Police Investigation Tip Line at 610-250-6635

Callers can remain anonymous.

Last year, Easton recorded five homicides, making it the deadliest year in the city in decades.

There was also a fatal beating late in the year, although the coroner hasn't ruled on the victim's death.

Eddie G's "will be held accountable" for what happened, Mayor Sal Panto told the Express Times Sunday.

He said the bar was the site of numerous complaints, and could be in danger of being shut down.

This bar is worthless. Since it's opening it has had nothing but a negative impact on the downtown restuarant and bar scene. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.

We need to have better police patrolling the areas that are known in having trouble. The more the criminals see the police driving by slowly not driving by at 25 mph down the block it could have an impact in deterring some crime. They'll think about committing the crimes a little bit more. Also, the police need to start having a better relationship with the community it serves, there should be open lines with the citizens here. The more people and police interact in a positive way the better it is for both parties. I'm sure someone know something it's just a matter of time.

Why isn't anyone asking why Bloods gang members are in Easton in the first place! They are to blame, not the bar owners. They didn't give the guy a gun and ask him to shoot another patron in their own bar!? Get to the root of the problem before you place blame. It's really easy for you to blame the business owner
