An Easton man has been arraigned for allegedly withdrawing $3,200 from his mother's checking account and then calling her from prison to ask her for bail money.
Randy Ross forged his mother's signature and cashed two checks at separate times at a Palmer Township bank, according to a report in the Express-Times.
He was arraigned before District Judge Jacqueline Taschner on charges of forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen property. He is being held in the Northampton County Prison.
A Palmer Township police detective was contacted July 29 about the two checks, according to the report. Eileen Ross said her son forged her signature on both checks to receive the money, the Easton Express Times states.
