Palmer Police Charge Man with Felony Burglary

Suspect and another man kicked in a basement door to gain entry, records say.

Palmer Township police have charged an 18-year-old man in the burglary of a home on June 14. Police said the burglary is a felony charge.

Adam R. LaBarre, who has no known address, allegedly broke into a house at 108 Scotty Drive and, with another man’s help, stole a 46-inch television and a Blu-ray DVD player, according to court records. The two items together were worth more than $2,000, according to police.

According to the arrest affidavit, LaBarre accompanied another man to the home, where they kicked in the basement door and took the two items between 8:15am and 10:15am.

The other man lived at that address with his mother until only a few days earlier, when she kicked him out because he was “using drugs,” according to the affidavit.

LaBarre was identified as the other man’s accomplice as it was he who fenced the stolen television to the Easton Exchange pawnshop for $150, according to the affidavit.

A pawnshop employee told police two men also tried to sell him the DVD player, but he turned it down because it was missing its remote control.

LaBarre was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and three counts of criminal conspiracy. He was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail following his early-morning arraignment today before District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro.
