Palmer Woman Allegedly Steals Video Game from Wal-Mart

Police say a Palmer woman already barred from Wal-Mart for previous thefts, allegedly stole a PlayStation 3 last week.

A Palmer Township woman and a Monroe County man – both with a history of retail thefts – allegedly tried to steal a PlayStation 3 (PS3) from in Lower Nazareth Township, according to .

Around 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 15, police say, Travese Deremer, 29, of Brodheadsville, allegedly placed a PS3 worth $299 in his shopping cart.

Deremer and Tracey Howell, 23, of the 3000 block of Clearview Street, then attempted to leave the store without paying, but were stopped at the door by Wal-Mart's loss prevention staff.

Due to their history of retail thefts, according to police, Deremer and Howell had received written warnings from Wal-Mart that states they are not to return to the store.

Howell was cited with trespassing and was released.

Deremer was charged with trespassing and retail theft (first degree misdemeanor, which has a maximum penalty of up to 5 years in prison). He was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Barner.
