Police Seek Man Who Beat Girl in Wilson

Jason Derr, of Easton's South Side, facing assault charges.

Written by Jack Tobias

Wilson police are looking for a man they say slammed a girl’s head into a door and also injured a woman who is the girl’s mother and the man’s girlfriend.

A criminal complaint was filed against Jason Derr, 38, of 908 W. Berwick St., Easton, in connection with the incident at 4:30 Saturday morning on the 2000 block of Butler Street.

Wilson Patrolman Dan Dieter, who filed the complaint, spoke to Derr’s girlfriend. She said Derr began calling her daughter names. He then grabbed the girl’s head and slammed it into a door. The girl’s age is not listed.

The woman said Derr also caused her – the woman – to be struck by the door, injuring her right inner bicep.

Dieter saw a “visible injury” to the girl’s forehead and marks on the woman’s right inner bicep.

The complaint, which charges Derr with two counts each of simple assault and harassment, was filed later Saturday with on-duty District Judge Jackie Taschner of Palmer Township.
