Three Charged with Shoplifting at Boscov's

They were caught shoplifting Saturday at Boscov's in the Palmer Park Mall; one had two prior convictions in New Jersey, according to police.

 

Three people who were together Saturday afternoon at in Palmer Park Mall have been charged with shoplifting, and police say one of the suspects has two prior shoplifting convictions in New Jersey and was jailed.

The jailed suspect, Claudia A. Speers, 43, resides at 2415 Nazareth Road, Room 122, in Palmer Township, the address of the Comfort Inn. Also charged were Jaronzia Marquese Fletcher, 38, of 123 N. 2nd St., Apt. 303, Easton, and Yasmeen Fluellen, 26, of 1227 Spruce St., Easton.

Court records say the three “conspired to commit retail theft” and were seen concealing items in the purses of Spears and Fluellen around 4pm. They left Boscov’s near the “jewelry doors” on the store’s south side. They were stopped outside by store loss-prevention officials.

All merchandise was recovered. The items in Spears’ purse was valued at $273.22 and the items in Fluellen’s purse were valued at $219.84.

Spears pleaded guilty to retail theft charges twice in 2002 in New Jersey – in Bridgewater Township, Somerset County, on June 28 and in Lopatcong Township near Phillipsburg on July 9.

The three suspects were arraigned by on-duty District Judge Todd Strohe of Bangor. Spears was committed to Northampton County Prison after failing to post $5,000 bail. Fletcher and Fluellen were released on $5,000 unsecured bail each.
