Woman Accused of Having Sex with Teens will go to Trial

Rachel L. Farrell of Palmer Township waived her preliminary hearing on charges she had sex with teenagers and will go to trial.

 

Rachel L. Farrell, 25, waived her preliminary hearing Friday in front of District Judge Joseph Barner on three counts of corruption of minors and will go to trial, The Express-Times reports.

Farrell, of 2338 Northwood Ave., Palmer Township, allegedly admitted to police on Dec. 16 that she had sex with two 17-year-old boys from Bangor High School while she was a teacher there.

One boy, now 18, told police that Farrell was his 11th grade reading teacher.

He said "he and Farrell had sexual intercourse numerous times at many different locations. Many times were in her car or his car parked in secluded locations," according to the affidavit of probable cause. He said some "sex occurred in the WalMart parking lot on Rt. 248" and also at the Ramada Inn in Tannersville.

District Attorney John Morganelli has said Farrell had affairs with up to four students, and had an extended relationship with at least one.

Farrell remains free after posting $5,000 bail.
